Welcome to Carnane National School

The aim of Carnane National School is to provide a holistic education in the Catholic Tradition for all our students.

We are committed to the academic, creative, emotional and physical development of each student in a caring and safe environment.

Our school vision “Education is a journey not a race” embodies our school ethos.

Education does not consist solely of the academic subjects such as Maths, English, History etc.

Education is an ongoing daily process for each and every one of us, both adults and children.

We should remember that education occurs throughout our lives and we should learn from and value each lesson learnt.

We offer the Primary School Curriculum as laid down by the Department of Education but we also advocate a holistic approach to education.

We encourage all sporting activities – the students in Carnane National School

have the opportunity to learn football and hurling skills which are provided by visiting instructors.

The children also attend swimming lessons in the University of Limerick (UL) once a week during one term each school year.
